SD Jain Higher Secondary School (SDJHSS), Dimapur held its Fresher’s Day program on July 7, at the school auditorium to accord a formal welcome to the class 11 students who recently joined the school.
The program started with a traditional prayer called “Mangalacharan” by Pandit Ajith Kumar Jain.
Director of NIIT Dimapur and secretary of the School Managing Committee, Ajay Sethi while addressing the students advised them that academic excellence is very important. Though the curriculum offered by NBSE is at par with rest of the country, he encouraged students to study outside the syllabus as well to go deep into their preferred subject of specialization in order to succeed in highly competitive examinations like JEE and NEET, especially for the Science Stream Students.
Reji Abraham, principal of the school spoke to the students about the importance of making quick adjustments to live in different environments. He told the students that not only is academic excellence needed to build a successful career but life and interpersonal skills are also equally important. He said that students needed to take up their studies passionately and consistently to succeed in their pursuit of achieving their life goals.  He assured the students that the school would always ready to provide them with any kind of help and guidance they may need in their studies and also guide them in choosing the right career.
During the program each of the newly joined students were given time to introduce themselves and share their experiences and dreams. Students of class twelve hosted the program choreographed dance and song presentations.
