SDJHSS commemorates man landing on moon

S.D. Jain Higher Secondary School Dimapur (SDJHSS) has commemorated the 50th anniversary of man’s first landing on moon in July 20, 1969. 

A press release from school principal, Reji Abraham stated that, science club members of the school under the supervision and guidance of the science department teachers organized a programme from July 1 to 5, at the school premises under the motto “Explore the universe for a better planet earth”. The speakers in the seminar were students from class 9 to 12, wherein they gave speeches and audio visual presentations on moon mission technology and space research. Other highlights included painting, quiz competitions on space science, short movie shows on moon landing and cosmology. Science teachers Joseph Mathew, Vivek Sah, and Jasmine supervised the commemoration events in the school.  

Abhijit Kumar, Debjoy Acharjee and Manish Kumar of class 10 bagged the first position for best researched project presentation and Rohan Biswas, Jekevi Kinimi and Priya Dey of class 12 Science secured the second position.
