SDTC for youth inaugurated in Longleng

Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) in collaboration with department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Nagaland, Kohima inaugurated Skill Development Training Centre (SDTC)-cum-seminar on February 26 at mission centre Nyengching, Longleng, formally inaugurated by M. Shayung Phom, deputy commissioner Longleng.

DC appreciated the Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA) led by executive secretary N. Tialemba Phom for initiating and bringing up the unit for the benefit of the young people. He said that, during his tenure in other posting places he had inaugurated such skill training centres with different units and machineries for imparting training in various fields to the young unemployed youth, especially for high school and college drop-outs. However, DC advised the initiators to make it more free space with the extension of present training building to accommodate good numbers of young skill trainees. 

DC also said that to become well equipped skilled person, an individual must possess extra special talent and give full dedication in whatever activities. In this connection he said, any products by well skilled and expert person is known not by the quantity but the skill that had gone in. 

DC also appealed the gathering to take up the training which comprises of knitting, cutting, tailoring and weaving in a positive way which the PBCA was providing apart from their preaching ministry. He therefore, urged upon the young trainees to be sincere and put extra effort to become best of the best trained. 

DC also appreciated PBCA for taking up green revolution and cleanliness recently which was a major initiative for good environment not only for Longleng district but for the state of Nagaland.

Executive secretary PBCA N. Tialemba Phom, while delivering his keynote address said, the young people needed to explore their hidden potentials, develop and sharpen their skills to sustain one's life and society. He maintained that the call of God was to make society better and sustainable, whereby this initiative was a holistic development.

Earlier, DC inaugurated the Skill Development Training Centre, dedicatory prayer was said by B. Nganlang pastor, president Phom Baptist Christian Association (PBCA). Programme was chaired by. M. ChingongPhom, literature secretary PBCA. Invocation prayer was offered by Rev. Longnyei evangelist, PBCA, special song by Chauyong& friends, while concluding remarks was said by B. AngbhenPhom, women secretary PBCA. Others present were Er. H. Alongse, assistant director department of Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Kohima, Phom People's Council, (PPC) Phomla Hoichem, Phom Students' Conference (PSC) and youths from the district.
