Sedevizo Keretsü of Life Fitness Gym emerged as the strongest man of 3rd Hornbill International Strongest & Fittest competition 2019 held here at Kisama on Saturday. 

He defeated his nearest opponent Kevilelie Pienyü of De Oriental Gym by lifting the ‘Naga Stone’ twice in the final round which was about 80Kg. 

He received a cash prize of Rs.30,000 along with citations, while first runner-up Kevilelie Pienyü of De Oriental Gym and second runner-up Tsuknungakum Jamir of Flex Appeal Gym were awarded cash prize of Rs.20,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively along citations.

The strongest men competition underwent six rounds including tyre flip, farmers walk, loading race, Naga stone, log race and stone lift to decide the winner. 

Vilazolie Rio of Life Fitness Gym was declared as the Hornbill 2019 fittest man and received a cash prize of Rs.30,000 along with citation.

Riku Khape and Trijongpa Sangtam of Life Fitness Gym were declared as the first runner-up and second runner-up and pocketed Rs.20,000 and Rs.10,000 respectively.

Nuneno Neihu of Flex Appeal Gym was adjudged as the Hornbill Fittest woman 2019. She received a cash prize of Rs.10,000 along with citations while first runner-up Yashikala and second runner-up Chubanungla walked away with cash prize of 5,000 and 2,000 respectively along with citations.

The Strongest & Fittest Man competition was organised under the aegis of the Nagaland Strongman & Fitness Association (NSFA) and sponsored by the department of Tourism.

Altogether, 24 competitors took part in the fittest man event and three persons competed for the Fittest Woman title and five participants competed for the strongest man title. 

Shelkens Brieuc from Belgium, who also took part in the fittest man event, managed to complete all the hurdles. Appreciating his participation in the event, the organisers awarded him with citation and cash. 

Earlier, Martha Ritse, Additional Secretary, Department of Tourism graced the inaugural function and Akhale Khamo, Director, Tourism graced the valedictory function and gave away the prizes to the winners.
