SEFTI organises convocation for forest guards

State Environment and Forestry Training Institute (SEFTI) organised convocation for the 39th batch forest guard trainees, 2019 on July 6 at SEFTI campus after successful completion of six months mandatory training course.

A press release by SEFTI stated that the batch consisted of 25 forest guard from 11 different divisions. 

Addressing the gathering on the occasion as the chief guest, chief wildlife warden & chairman, SPMU, Nagaland, Dr Ramesh K. Aima, congratulated the young trainees and elicited the focus of the passing out officers of their crucial role as future custodians of the country’s rich forest wealth.

He said the training imparted at the SEFTI prepares the trainees for the tough challenges that lie ahead in their jobs and urged the trained staffs to come forward and share their field experiences. He also stressed on the importance of women staffs in the department. 

Kekiye Aomi from Dimapur division received the best forester of the batch in overall and academic while the best forester in extracurricular activities was awarded to Kuholi from Zunheboto division.

The programme was chaired by assistant director, SEFTI, Florence T. Sangtam, annual report of the institute and declaration of the results was delivered by director, SEFTI, Dimapur, K. Hukato Chishi while vote of thanks was delivered by faculty, SEFTI, Limaangtet Jamir.
