Seized IMFL destroyed in Dimapur, Mkg

Seized illegal made foreign liquor (IMFL) were destroyed by Diphupar Naga Women Organisation (DNWO) in Dimapur and destruction committee in Mokokchung respectively on November 21.

DNWO: Diphupar Naga Women Organisation (DNWO) on Saturday, destroyed seized IMFL, worth six lakhs (approximately) at Diphupar Village Council (DVC) premises. 
A brief programme was held at council hall, before the liquor was dumped, wherein DNWO chairperson, Ajano Lotha maintained that the liquor and narcotics were confiscated within the village jurisdiction starting from November 5 to 20, from outlets and unclaimed ones. 
She informed that during the tenure of three years, the organisation has undertaken 54 cases related to seizure of liquor along with support of the village and youth organisation.   
Ajano also called upon the various organisations within the colony to continue to extend their support and cooperation so as to rid the village from the liquor consumption menace. 
In line with the NLTP Act 1989, DVC chairman Ghuzui Shohe while delivering short speech said that it has become a vested interest business. He also spoke on how alcohol abuse and alcoholism within a family has become a problem destroying marriages or driving a wedge between members. Mentioning about the importance of community participation, Shohe also informed that in the later days, if needed the names of the investors who were part of the menace would be informed to the community to impose action against the defaulters. 
Furthermore, he called upon all to come together as one to eradicate the menace from the society and look forward for peaceful coexistence. Short speech was also delivered by head GB, Kekhwetsu Khutsoh. Earlier, invocation prayer was proposed by Sumi Baptist Church pastor Nikhuyi Achumi. The seized items were dumped by pouring them out at a dumping site in the presence of various Diphupar organisations.

Mokokchung: Under the order of the chief judicial magistrate, Mokokchung, the destruction committee destroyed around 160 cases of seized IMFL at the court premises on November 21, which were earlier seized on various occasions. The destruction today was carried out in the presence of SDO (Civil) Mokokchung, the chairman of the destruction committee and other members of the destruction committee.
