Seminar on digitalization of Subroto Cup International Football Tournament was held at the Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, Kohima with coordinator of Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, Rajesh Murali as resource person on May 28.

According to DIPR, DSOs, PISs and coaches and other YR&S officials attended the seminar.

Murali said Subroto Cup, a prodigy of the Indian Air Force, has inked a long-term partnership with Ajna Holding AB where the latter will provide the tournament with end-to-end competition management through its dedicated web portal and application, which will be utilised to track player development, fixture management, match insights and registrations.

The Ajna app aims at developing the coaches in India with a very modern tech-driven platform with a curriculum designed by experts in Sweden.

Ajna Holding’s IP focuses on registering, tracking, analyzing, scouting and developing the best players under the vision of the Subroto Cup.

Murali said the move will allow the competition to reach the hinterlands of the country to identify and map players from remote locations at a young age. It will also help the Subroto Cup prepare a master database of players and teams, which will give immense benefit to the users as well as participants.

It will help to curb the age fraud issue to a great extent as well as the coaches and teams who have contributed to the development of players could be recognized and awarded.

Under the revamped process, Subroto Cup has opened the registration process online. Schools will now be able to upload player and team information, track player development in line with leading international competitions. Each state body can also view their player’s development contributing to the national development.

He further said that the tournament focuses on grassroot football in the country and around 5,75,000 children from 36,000 schools have participated in the tournament so far. Foreign teams from Brazil, Ukrain, Israel, United Kingdom, Switzerland and others have also taken part in the tournament. He said Rs. 3,50,000 is given to winners of each boys and girls junior team and Rs. 2,50,000 is given to the winner of boys sub junior team.

Director YR&S, Akumla Chuba expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience a direct interaction with the organisers of the Tournament. “Although our officers went to Guwahati and learned something earlier, we can have a deeper interaction today” she added.
