Send back returnees only after testing: ENPUD

Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Union Dimapur (ENPUD) has appealed to the state government to allow Eastern Nagaland area people, who returned from other states, to complete mandatory quarantine period in Dimapur and Kohima as per standard operating procedure (SOP) and be sent to their respective districts only after undergoing full necessary medical test.

In a press release, ENPUD president M.C Ongbou Chang and general secretary M Jeange Yanlem pointed out that ENPO areas situated in the extreme corner of the state “lacked proper preparation to tackle the pandemic. “

The union has assured the government that the people of ENPO were willing to provide any kind of assistance during “our common battle against the pandemic.” ENPUD also appealed to all responsible especially the returnees to adhere to the norms and guidelines set for the returnees.

Meanwhile, the union has appreciated the state government for the arrangement made for the safe return of the stranded people.

Further, ENPUD acknowledged the frontline workers, who were risking their lives in containing the COVID-19 in Nagaland.
