Sensitisation on child rights in Peren

District child protection unit (DCPU) Peren organised a one-day sensitisation programme on Child Rights and Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act 2015 at Perenkipeuzang on September 14. 

A press release from district child protection unit (DCPU) Peren stated that, resources person, legal-cum-probation officer, Peren, Asungbe, spoke on the Juvenile Justice Act (JJ ACT) and POCSO Act 2015. PO (NIC) Vihoto Kinny spoke on the role and functions of the village level child protection committee (VLCPC).

In a keynote address district child protection officer (DCPO), Peren, Avika Zhimomi highlighted the structure of the integrated child protection services (ICPS). 

He asserted that for a peaceful society every individual in the society should be responsible to protect the rights of children.

The programme held to enlighten the unreached rural community was chaired by Imliwapang Jamir, assistant cum data entry operator (CWC), invocation by and vote of thanks was delivered by Paulie, social worker DCPU, Peren.
