Sensitisation on PMMVY

As part of Matru Vandana Saptah 2019, a sensitisation programme on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) was organised by office of Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Kohima (Tribal) on December 4 at the Village Community Hall, Peducha Village.

A press release by the office stated that resource person, CDPO Kohima (Tribal), C. James Ezung, sensitised the community members by highlighting the importance of PMMVY and why the scheme has been implemented. 
He encouraged the AWWs and AWHs to prepare a list of all pregnant and lactating women and sort out the reasons as to why they were /not availing the scheme.
Besides PMMVY scheme, Ezung also highlighted various departmental activities, schemes and programmes implemented by the department. He encouraged the community to participate in all the schemes offered by the department. 
Sr. Supervisor from CDPO office, Kohima (T), Reyivolu also stressed on the objectives of PMMVY, the benefits, the targeted beneficiaries, the required conditions and documents required to avail this scheme. 
The programme was chaired by supervisor, Keneilhoupfenuo, invocation by AWW, Kevilengunuo and welcome note by Pfulhuca Kinyu of Peducha village. Village leaders and mothers attended the programme. 
PMMVY spot registration at Kisama 
Meanwhile, department of Social Welfare is carrying out spot registration for Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandhana Yojana (PMMVY) (Maternity Benefit Program) at Kisama, opposite the Tourism office. 
All pregnant women and lactating mother (PW&LM) from 2017, with their first live birth, excluding PW&LM who are regular employee with the central and state government or Public Sectors Undertakings, can avail the benefit, DIPR reported.
