Hokhezhe village council achieved 100% vaccination (first dose) of all its 18+ beneficiaries on July 20.

In a press release, DPO, UIP/RCH Dr. Rebecca informed that this was declared in a joint statement from Hokhezhe village council chairman Kiqheto Swu and secretary Yekavi Chishi after the third round of COVID-19 vaccination outreach activity in their village by the staff under Suhoi sub-center, Kuhuboto sub-division. 

Altogether, 173 beneficiaries were vaccinated.

While appreciating the efforts, Dr. Rebecca hoped that the community of Hokhezhe village would continue to join hands with the health department in all future health activities in the village.

Sensitisation programme in Mokokchung: A team led by additional director DHFW, Dr. Kika Longkumer, DPO (UIP&RCH) Dr.Ayangla Saku, ZLO & DMHP, Dr. Temsuyanger, Jongpongtsungba, BPM Tsurangkong and IEC personnel visited Longnak SC and Chungtia yimsen on July 17 and Changtongya CHC on July 19 to sensitise and clear doubts with regard to COVID-19 vaccination.

A press release from the chief medical officer’s office informed that the resource persons addressed the participants on the urgent need of on-time testing, strict SOP observance and vaccination to curb the spread and to achieve herd immunity.

Queries and myths on COVID-19 and vaccination were also addressed. Block magistrate Tsurangkong, Atsung Walling also interacted with the village representatives at Longnak and Chungtiayimsen. 

Pastors, APWs, village council heads & members, VDB, SHGs, ward representatives, deacons, ASHAs, AWWs, student leaders, task force and staff of sub-centres and CHC attended the programme.

Altogether 129 representatives from Nokon, Longnak, Merayim, Satsukba, Chungtiayimsen, Tsurangkong, Longpayimsen, Medemyim, Moayimti, Watiyim, Aosenden, Aokum, Akhoya, Kelingmen, Unger, Liroyim, Yaongyimsen and wards from Changtongya attended the programme.

The programme was carried out in collaboration with the sub-divisional level administration.

It may be mentioned that the team from the chief medical officer office has covered more than 30 villages in Mokokchung district to sensitise the community on vaccination and early treatment.
