Sensitisation workshop on agripreneurship in Kohima

One day collaborative training on “sensitization on agripreneurship” sponsored by National Institute of Agricultural Management (NIAM), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, government of India and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) on September 27 at the Conference Hall, Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima.

A press release by the department stated that in an introductory speech, joint director of agriculture, Dr. I. Amenla said it was imperative to see agriculture as an enterprise and not just a way of life.

She stressed on engaging the unemployed youths in agriculture and also on “understanding the bigger picture” as it involved not only farming but fields which can be diversified into agribusiness.

The resource persons –management consultant, Niekepekho Shosahie and project manager, Naga Hills Agro Producers Enterprise (NHAPE), Global Network Group, Kheto Sema were sourced through Youth Net, Nagaland.

The resource persons deliberated on agribusiness and how to stay current with market demand and local operating realities and on networking and building relationship in a business.

The sessions were followed by discussions and interactions and feedback from participants.
