Sensitization on child rights in Mon

Mon district administration, district child protection unit (DCPU), Mon ADP, world vision India (WVI) and child welfare committee Mon jointly organized and observed the 30th anniversary of child rights (UNCRC)-cum-sensitization programme on child rights & child protection at council hall, Mon town on November 20.

A press release by WVI Mon ADP, coordinator development facilitation Y. Nockyam Wangnao stated that, while delivering short speech, DC Mon, Thavaseelan K emphasised on multiple mechanism that were available in the district to ensure child rights and for child protection. 

Resource person Seyielenuo Mezhii (NJS), principal magistrate juvenile justice board Mon emphasized on JJ Act and its implementation relating to child in need of care and protection & Child in Conflict with Law. Dr. L. Khobung programme manager Mon ADP WVI enlightened the gathering on End Violence Against Children (EVAC). 

Vote of thanks was pronounced by Ngamkhao, member CWC and programme concluded with prayer by president Pastor’s Union Mon, R. Kaipha.
