Silence of majority shouldn’t be construed as Nagas’ voice: NSCN (K)

DIMAPUR, DEC 3 (NPN) | Publish Date: 12/3/2020 1:23:18 PM IST

NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP, Nikato Pilot Sumi, has warned that the silence of majority against the “cacophony of few emasculated India-centric leaders” should not be construed as the voice of Nagas and taken mistakenly taken as a docile sign of acceptance.

In a press statement, NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP asserted that the “Indo-Naga political conflict” reverberated and resurged with unabated rigour and strength throughout “our contentious history” due to Indian government’s alleged insidious insincerity and wilful military occupation of Naga lands.
According to NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP, all politically discordant issues of India have origin in the country’s militarily imposed union of all its States. He remarked that it was utterly untenable for India to think its government could forever maintain its militarily-imposed hegemonic rule over the Nagas or over other nations under its neo-colonial rule.
Advising the government  of India to heed to reason and sensibility rather than be carried away by its military might, NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP said might can never imprison or dissuade “our consciousness” of a sovereign Nagaland for Christ.
“The vision of our forefathers of a sovereign Nagaland for Christ is very well alive in our hearts today and holds more significance and is much dearer to us due to the countless martyred Nagas,” NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP said.
Further, NSCN (K) deputy kilonser MIP said it will tirelessly and continuously hold on to the baton and pass it on to all successive Naga generations.”
