Star Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu, Parupalli Kashyap and HS Prannoy on Wednesday all progressed through the second round of the Thailand Open badminton tournament after registering straight game victories in their respective matches.
According to India.com, 2014 Commonwealth Games champion Kashyap, who is making a return after recovering from a stress fracture on his shin, defeated Canada’s Jason Ho-shue 21-15, 21-17 in a match that lasted for 38 minutes.  Fourth-seeded Prannoy, on the other hand, beat Pablo Abian 21-16, 21-19 in 35 minutes.
In the women’s singles event, Sindhu, the Rio Olympics silver medallist, registered a comfortable 21-8, 21-15 win over Bulgaria’s Linda Zetchiri to enter the second round of the USD 350,000 BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament.
However, there was disappointment for Vaishnavi Reddy Jakka who crashed out of the tournament after suffering a 13-21, 17-21 defeat against Sayaka Sato.  The 16-year-old from Hyderabad had clinched the Iberdrola Spanish Junior in February and reached the final at Iceland International in January.
