Secretariat road that was totally cut off by landslide at Sanuoru on July 30 has been opened to single lane traffic (only light vehicles) on Saturday at around 11am.

According to Kohima police, the stretch of road from High School junction to Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway has been made playable for light vehicles for down traffic only (one way) from 9am to 5pm.

Police also informed that no heavy/medium vehicles would be allowed to ply on that stretch of road.

Further, it has been informed that all up vehicles would continue to take the Billy Graham road.

Kohima also police stated that this arrangement would continue till further notice.

Meanwhile, construction of retaining wall near the working women hostel is underway. The single lane is being enforced to avoid traffic congestion.
