Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh on Thursday said that Union defense minister Nirmala Sitharaman will inaugurate the 10-day mega event “Sangai Festival” on November 21.

He also said that Princess of Thailand, two chief ministers from Myanmar and US Ambassador to India will grace some evening events of the festival.

In this regard, Singh urged the people to uphold Manipuri tradition by extending hospitality and to receive the guests with utmost decency.

The chief minister said this while talking to media on the sideline of joint Meeyamgi Numit and Hill Leaders’ Day held at the durbar hall of chief minister’s secretariat. Around 140 stalls of different foreign firms, mostly from Korea, China, Thailand and Myanmar will be set up, Singh said.

Meanwhile, the chief minister urged all concerned to desist from imposing bandh or blockade as it will give bad impression about the state to the visitors. He said that the government was ready for talks to resolve any matter.
