St. Joseph College Jakhama was crowned the overall champion at the two-day first Private College Association of Nagaland (PCAN) sports and literary meet that concluded on Wednesday at Tetso College, Dimapur. The runners-up spot was bagged by Tetso College.   Vice President of PCAN (Model Christian College), P. Francis quoting from the book of Matthew 17:4, said that the two day PCAN meet was like the experience at Mount Tabor and that they could proudly exclaim, “It is good that we are here”. The motto of PCAN is “Learning, Sacrifice, Service” and indeed is keeping its motto by being ever ready to make sacrifice and serving the student community in Nagaland, he stated.  Francis said that unity was the need of the hour which he mentioned is the most essential element of human existence. He said that unity amongst all the colleges is vital for the progress of education and the student community, and in fact for society. Progress, according to him would be farfetched if distinction or segregation exists.

He encouraged everyone to move towards a common goal, and unity. He also congratulated all winning colleges and also for their active participation and hoped that PCAN would continue organising such meets. The closing ceremony was chaired by Director of Tetso College, Kuvlo Lorin, invocation was offered by Pastor Zhabu Nahi of Sovima Baptist Church and vote of thanks was delivered by treasurer of PCAN (Cornerstone College), Dr. Sashi Aier.
