SJU social work students holds rural camp

The department of social work, St. Joseph University (SJU) Dimapur conducted rural camp for the bachelors of social work from August 29 to September 4, at Khuzama village. Twenty seven students along with two faculties took part in the rural camp. 

The department of social work, SJU organized tree plantation and cleanliness drive to promote the importance of individual responsibility in safeguarding biodiversity.

A survey was conducted on ‘Socio-economic, health and education’ status of the village for educational purpose. 

During their stay at the village the students interacted with elders of the village to understand the society and culture. 

A session was organized on career planning and confidence building for Classes 9 and 10 students in the village. 

Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) was conducted to make the social work students understand the landscape and resources of the village.

The department of social work, SJU would like to thank Khuzama Village Council for giving opportunity to the students to conduct the rural camp at the village and also Khuzama Youth Organization and Khuzama Students Union for continuous support and cooperation.
