Skill academy for women inaugurated

Rotary Club of Dimapur (RCD) under its women empowerment programme has started a Rotary Skill Academy (RSA) to impart vocational training to women and girls on June 18. 

A press release from club project in-charge, Pradip Kr. Jain stated that, the RSA was jointly inaugurated by club’s senior members namely B. L. Khetawat, U. S. Agarwalla, Dr. B. L Agarwalla and Surinder Anand at Rotary Centre, Midland, Dimapur in the presence of club members and guests.

Pradip Kumar Jain, project chairman while delivering welcome speech spoke about the need for such skill academy in the community. Club president, Dr. Nitin Agarwalla spoke about the aims and objectives of academy. Academy will impart tailoring training to women but gradually other skill trainings will also be provided. The training is free where around 15 women have already enrolled for the basic tailoring course.
