Skill development training conducted on mushroom cultivation

Skill development training on shitake and oyster mushroom cultivation was conducted Thursday, at State Horticulture Nursery, conference hall, Green Park Dimapur.

Resource persons of the training programme was mushroom specialist and proprietor, ALON multipurpose Dr Sosang Longkumer scientist, who encouraged the famers to be responsible in their duty. He told them that government has been funding the farmers in many ways in order to encourage them. 

He said that once the farmer become successful it would not only help to sustain their livelihood but also help in revenue generation. “Once you set your mind reminder we have achieve half of our goal” he said. Longkumer also encouraged the farmers not to make hasty decision but learn to be steady in decision making.

Furthermore, Longkumer in the technical session gave hands on training and demonstration on cultivating the two types of mushroom namely shitake and oyster.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by AHO, Neisetuonuo Debbie. Keynote address was delivered by AHO, Alemtsu brief on the importance and scope of mushroom. He also encouraged the beneficiaries to make better use of the training programme and be benefitted.

Later, programme also highlighted interactive session where doubts and queries were clarified and spawns were distributed to the beneficiaries.
