Skill training for jail inmates

Sixty inmates of Central Jail Dimapur were provided skill training as part of skill development project, which was launched by DG Prisons, Home Guard and Civil Defence, I Toshitsungba Aier at the jail premises on Thursday.

During the three-month period the inmates will be trained on LED and electronic systems repairing. 

The training programme was launched in collaboration with Aadit system private limited under PMKVY.

Speaking at the inauguration programme as special guest, Aier said that the inmates will be trained on batch wise. 

He encouraged the inmates to grab the opportunity so that it will help them sustain livelihood in the days to come.

Aier also spoke about the importance of empowering skill development in the present generation.

A brief highlight of the Aadit system was delivered by North East incharge Aadit system Pvt Ltd, Subhajit Dutta.

The programme chaired by central Jail, Dimapur jailor, Dr. Oben Yanthan, began with an invocation by central jail, Dimapur chaplain, Anshely. 

Welcome address was delivered by central jail Dimapur, AIG prisons Imtiangshi  Ao. Later, benediction was offered by central jail Dimapur senior pharmacist, K Vanthan Lotha. Highlights of the programme included inauguration of the skill development classroom.
