Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in partnership with Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI) conducted a skills and job orientation programme at St John College (SJC) Dimapur on January 21.

A press release from SJC Dimapur media cell stated that, Anirban Mukherjee, operations head of ESTI delivered a short speech detailing employment statistics in Nagaland which was at alarming rate as thousands of graduates each year become unemployed due to poor skill and job awareness.
He also added that ESTI has collaborated with the government of Nagaland for years in training and recruitment of youths in the state, and this programme was a routine to help the fresh students and unemployed youths equip themselves with job skills in a rat-race competitive world.
The main objective of the orientation was to inform the students about the skill development projects aided by the government. He informed that should students join, programmes include a compulsory three-month course of training, while placements simultaneously occur in aviation, hospitality and cruiseline management. He also urged the students to pursue the good opportunity of being professionals with a lucrative salary and adventure rather than settling only for government jobs. The agency is currently reaching out to colleges and higher secondary schools in Nagaland focusing mainly on the final year students who will soon graduate and enter the job market.
Earlier, programme began with opening remarks by the principal of the college, prof. S.T. Janetius.

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
