Institutional values and best practices (IQAC) of Sakus Mission College (SMC) Dimapur, conducted a one-day workshop on “Professional Ethics and values” for the office staff, on August 14, with Atemla Anichari, a former counselor at Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) Dimapur, as the resource person. 

A press release from SMC, IQAC stated that, two separate sessions were held for clerical and for the support staff.  Limanaro, HoD Education and the convener of IQAC chaired the first session and welcome note was delivered by Dr. Arenla Aier, principal SMC. 

In the first session, the resource person initiated an activity based workshop and encouraged the participants to have core belief in self, which was a driving force to motivate and develop a firm conviction towards work. She also spoke on the importance and the requisite qualities to be possessed by each personnel in an institution. She highlighted on certain aspects related to professionalism, like adhering towards integrity, accountability, diligence, perseverance and self-discipline. She deliberated on certain steps to be followed in order to develop good work ethics, communication skills etc. Note of appreciation was given by Wangwan on behalf of the office staff.

The second session with the support staff was chaired by Mhonthung HoD Sociology (IQAC member). The workshop is a first of its kind in the institution for the non-teaching staff.
