The 3rd Graduation Ceremony of the School Of Nursing, District Hospital Dimapur (SONDHD) with the Late Ketsovole Kire 17th Award Ceremony was held on Friday, at DHD Chapel Hall, Dimapur.

Altogether, 20 students graduated from the nursing school.

Exhorting the gathering, Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) principal director, Dr. Vikeye Losu, congratulated the graduating students for successfully completing their academic endeavour in the school. He reminded the students that as they embark on a new life there will be many challenges ahead in their professions and he encouraged them to keep updating their knowledge to meet these challenges.

According to Dr. Vikeye, passing their course successfully does not equate to the end of their learning. If one wants to continue rising, he said, one needs to continue learning.

Dr. Vikeye asked the students to respect their uniforms, which he said represents what they are. “Wear it proudly and confidently” he stated.

In the Late Ketsovole Kire award ceremony section of the program, advisor for Rural Development, Dr. Neikiesalie (Nicky) Kire, who gave the award away, spoke about how the award had been named in remembrance of his mother. He also congratulated the students and lauded the efforts of the tutors.

According to Dr. Nicky, service to humanity is inborn in humans and they like to take care of each other. On this subject, Dr. Nicky was of the view that theoretically nurses from South East India may be doing better but nurses from the North East seem to be more caring in the practical aspect. The award presentation was presided over by H&FW, Kohima deputy director Nursing, Shetoni Sema. A special number was presented by I Yimnyu Phom and friends.

At the program, the invocation prayer was said by DHD chaplain Reverend Yhunlo Thoong; a welcome address was delivered by SON DHD principal, Neipievo-ü and an acknowledgement speech was delivered by DHD nursing superintendent Kekhrongupeu.

Later, a vote of thanks was delivered by DHD medical superintendent Dr. Z Kheshito Zhimo and the benediction was offered by Dr. Toska.
