Special financial inclusion drive held in various districts

Block mission management unit (BMMU) Longmatra block organized a financial inclusion mela under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission from February 5 to 6 at Tethuyo village and Longmatra town respectively. 

A press release from BPM, BMMU Longmatra Atsope Sangtam stated that, mela was organized into two cluster level, at Tethuyo village comprising of Sanphure, Tutheze, Sangtsozi, Tethuyo and Pongren while in 2nd cluster it comprised of Longmatra village, Tsongphong, Ngoromi, Azetso and New Longmatra with resources persons from State Bank of India, Agri, National Health Mission, Labour and Social Welfare department. 

SBI LDM Sarei Muinao encouraged the citizens to open their accounts as the govt has now come up with an idea of DBT for any schemes and unless the citizens was having their own individual account they cannot avail any govt flagship schemes and  facilities. 

Setsiba AFA, disseminated various schemes and programmes initiated by Agri department like NFSM, MOVCD, RKVY, PM-KISSAN, ATMA etc. Besides this projects govt has also introduced PMKYM a pension schemes for farmers with agri as its nodal agency. Yanglikokba district coordinator, PMMVY spoke on the scheme which is specially designed for first pregnant mothers. He encouraged the pregnant mothers to get in touch with anganwati workers or ASHA at the village level for any help during pregnancy and for healthy nutrition. Yangtsapila, district coordinator, Ayushman Bharat Scheme talked about the benefits of enrolling in the scheme. Programme was chaired by Horiba AC-IBCB, and invocation was pronounced by Thsarise, pastor LTBL. Atsope BPM during her key note address said that NSRLM intervention at Longmatra block was started only in the last part of 2018 and till now there were 53 active SHGs and 2 VLOs under the block. Rothrongse, DC-FI briefed the gathering on the objectives of organizing fi melas in all the 42 blocks under NSRLM. 

VLO Sanphure and Longmatra village presented a special number while Kuramong AC-FI and Sepila AC Livelihood delivered vote of thanks and benediction pronounced by Atula, youth pastor Longmatra Town Baptist Lithro. Many were enrolled for new bank accounts, PMJAY, pension schemes and various other social security schemes. Tethuyo SHGs also exhibited various organic items. Altogether more than 200 SHGs and village stake holders, unions, church leaders participated in both programmes. 

Bhandari block: Block mission management unit (BMMU), Bhandari RD block, under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM) organised a financial inclusion drive at Bhandari town hall on February 4.

According to a press release by NSRLM, resources persons highlighted the financial inclusion schemes, along with the various social welfare schemes, rolled out by the government for the benefit of the rural people. Thungjanbemo Lotha, BDO Bhandari block stressed on the importance of MGNREGA, how job cards can be used to avail various benefits and how the mission aims to enhance livelihood of the rural population by providing 100 days of wage employment in a year. Samuel Kithan, ADPM, NSRLM Wokha also briefed about benefits that ensue once VLO is formed and urged members to give their best for the benefit of the community.

Disahi Vadeo, BPM NHM, gave an overview of AB-PMJAY and other schemes related to the medical department, Ralithung Lotha, supervisor, Social Welfare department, Bhandari block exhorted on the importance of PMMVY and how the community can avail various maternity benefits, while Chumben Yanthan, branch manager, SBI Bhandari spoke about the benefits of opening and linking back accounts with various social security schemes.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by Ajano T. Tsanglao, area coordinator livelihood NSRLM, welcome address by R. Erenbeni Ngullie, BPM-NSRLM Bhandari and vote of thanks by Chichanthung Shitiri, area coordinator, SISD Bhandari Rd block. Shanjos E Kikon area coordinator, FI, NSRLM gave an overview of NRLM.

Kiphire block: Nagaland State Rural livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) under Rural Development (RD), Kiphire block organised two-day fi-mela from February 3 and 4 in convergence with various departments. 

A press release from Kiphire block stated that, block programme manager, Ripise T Sangtam highlighted the overview of NSRLM Kiphire block. Resource persons from line departments of Social Welfare, Agriculture, National Health Mission, Labour and State bank of India Kiphire attended the programme.

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan  Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), health card was shared by Limawati Sangtam district programme manager, NHM Kiphire, while LDM SBI Kiphire Sarei Muinao Kiphire emphasised on benefits of PM-Mudra, APY, PMBSY and PMJJBY schemes. S. Yangkhumong AFA department of agriculture shared on PM-Kisan, and assured the SHGs members to avail the welfare schemes. Rothrongki, labour inspector shared PMSYM pension scheme for the poor labourer under unorganized sector. Limitsung, district coordinator Social Welfare department spoke on PMMVY schemes.

Yangdongse ADPM DMMU NSRLM Kiphire exhorted the women SHGs to focus on their works and also give more importance about their livelihoods. DC-FI NSRLM Kiphire Rothrongse Sangtam in his brief note shared about social security schemes. Invocation was led by BLF president and the programme was chaired by Risela DEO, vote of thanks was delivered by C. Rolise Sangtam. Altogether More than 400 participants from 22 villages attended.

Changpang circle: Block mission management unit Changpang block, department of Rural Development Wokha district conducted financial inclusion mela on February 5 at block office Changpang for Changpang circle (cluster one).  

A press release from BMMU Changpang block stated that, BPM Myingthungo Ezung BMMU Changpang highlighted the overview of NSRLM under Changpang block. Livelihood topic was shared by Levi Y Thungdemo Khuvung AC Livelihood. SO II R.D block Changpang spoke on MGNREGA scheme, supervisor Social Welfare Bhandari block Ralithung spoke on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and other schemes. Benefits of Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was shared by Disahi Vadeo BPM National Health Mission, Importance of banking relationship etc was shared by Rajesh Purkayastha assistant manager State Bank of India Bhandari branch. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Chumdamo area coordinator IB/CB. A total number of 197 SHG members attended. 11 individual accounts were opened. Subenthung Yanthan AC FI chaired the programme while Lotseno Ngullie (Bank Sakhi) said the opening prayer.

Aitepyong circle: Financial inclusion mela was held on February 6 at community hall Akuk Old for Aitepyong circle (Cluster One). Subenthung Yanthan AC FI chaired the programme while Thungchibeni (VF Akuk Old) said the opening prayer. BPM Myingthungo Ezung BMMU Changpang highlighted the overview of NSRLM under Changpang block.  Livelihood topic was shared by Apibeni Y Kikon AC Livelihood. Village council chairman Akuk Old Village thanked the NSRLM BMMU Changpang block staff.  Block project officer Social Welfare Sanis block Zubemo Yanthan spoke on PMMVY and other schemes. Anthony Yanthan supervisor Medical department spoke on the topic malaria while importance of banking relationship etc was shared by Masheto Nandu manager Nagaland State Cooperative Bank Wokha. Vote of thanks was pronounced by Benthungo Odyuo area coordinator SI/SD. A total number of 226 SHG members along with stakeholders, BMMU staff, resource persons from bank and  line departments participated. 15 individual accounts were opened.
