Block mission management unit, Mon under the aegis of Nagaland State Rural Livelihood Mission (NSRLM), department of Rural Development organised “special financial inclusion mela” at Konyak Union hall on January 29.

According to DIPR report, speaking on the occasion as special guest, SDO (C) Mon, Chumlamo Humtsoe stated that, in Nagaland, women were more empowered where most of the economic activity is carried out by women and taking important role in decision making. Lamenting that Nagas are bad in saving money, he encouraged the people to know the value of money. He advised the gathering to avail whatever facilities are available under different schemes.  

PO/DPM DRDA Mon, M. Temjen Longchar said women empowerment was necessary for upliftment of socio-economic status in the district and with the coming of  NSRLM, which is seven years now, has lots of  impact and  very fruitful in the district. 

Manager, India Post Payments Bank, Mon, Nagaland, Sumit Banerjee spoke on IPPB where it be will be reaching the doorstep of every village. He elaborated on how to open the IPPB account and also share on the insurance facilities available in Postal department.

DPO, Social Welfare department, Mon Khuppao Hengnya spoke on “Declamation of social welfare schemes” and shared on the schemes under social welfare like IGNOAPS, IGNWPS, Disabled Pension Schemes, ICDS, PMMVK and PoshanAbhiyaan.

Assistant labour commissioner, Mon, Visa Khunuo Ndang spoke on Prandhan Mantri Shram Yogi Mandhan (YMSYM).  She informed that any unrecognized workers within the age group of 18-40 years can join the scheme and asked the workers to visit community service centre along with aadhaar card and savings bank account for registration.

Deputy chief medical officer, Mon, Dr. Limatula spoke on Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY). She called upon the beneficiaries to enroll their names in order to avail the schemes. 

Earlier, the key note address was given by BDO-cum-BMM, RD Block, Mon, special presentations by village level organization Wangla Vilage. 

Programme was attended by SHG, VDB and government officials. 280 SHGs 19 villages under Mon block have registered.
