Dear fellow countrymen and comrades-in-common cause!

On this historic day, I greet you all in the name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ!

We know the world moves; like time and tide, nothing stands still. And that, all peoples and nations moved in tune with them from one historical stage to another. They moved from political and economic bondages to freedom through revolution; they moved from backward stage to the stage of civilized world through revolution; they moved from the cocoon of slavery to the stature of master through revolution.

We Nagas must also move to change for the better or perish. We must change in all fields through revolution. Revolution will stay in our land so long as our sovereign right to decide our future by ourselves is suppressed.

The Naga national resistance movement began the day the aggressors intruded into our land. The Constituent Assembly of India invited the Nagas to join the Union of India in 1950, but it was flatly rejected by the Nagas.

In response to that Mr. Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India stated, “Even if heaven falls and the whole country goes to pieces and rivers run red with blood, I will never allow the Nagas to be independent.” Thereafter, the Government of India sent hundreds of thousands Indian armed forces personnel to Naga country with a view to subduing the Nagas with brute force. But, by His grace, the Naga people survived the onslaught of the India colonial forces.

The so-called Nagaland state embracing a part of the Naga people and a part of Naga territory was created in 1963 purely with a view to divide the Nagas and fight the Nagas through the state machineries. But, the Naga national issue was saved in His name by the revolutionary patriots.

The Government of India won over the hearts of some top leaders to its side. Finally, they surrendered to the enemies in the name of revolutionary government in 1968. But, the Naga people led by national leaders stayed the course. The Government of India declared Presidential Rule in Nagaland state to create fear psychosis in the minds of the Nagas. Under such circumstances, the infamous Shillong Accord was signed in 1975 by some NNC leaders betraying the principle. But, it was condemned by the National Assembly under the leadership of Isak and Muivah. The leaders of the Shillong Accord plotted a military coup where top national leaders including Isak and Muivah were arrested to be executed. Hundreds of faithful national workers were killed. But, the unique history of the Nagas was saved from the accord of treason by the workers who were faithful to the cause of Nagalim for Christ.

In 1988, Mr. SS. Khaplang staged another coup d’état in collaboration with the enemies, where hundreds of workers and public were killed on fabricated grounds and in the name of peace offensive, but revolutionary patriots under the leadership of Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah remained loyal to the nation. We survived the ruthless offensive of their collusion forces by His grace.

Realizing the futility of seeking military solution, Government of India invited the NSCN for political talks. And finally, Government of India and NSCN as two entities signed the historic Framework Agreement on 3rd August, 2015. We praised the honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, who took the bold and historic step in signing the Framework Agreement. It is historic because Government of India recognizes the unique history and sovereignty of the Nagas. It also says coexistence of the two entities sharing sovereign power. Government of India has also recognized the territory of the Nagas and the legitimate right of the Nagas to integration. The Indians and Nagas will coexist as partners, not enemies; they will walk together in many areas in the spirit of cooperation and coordination, not confrontation and opposition. The agreement also says creation of PAN Naga Hoho, a statutory body which will deal with cultural affairs, social, integrity and interests of the Nagas. We believe this agreement will open a new era for a new relationship between the peoples if the Indian leaders do not go back upon their word.

Engineered by the enemies, a number of workers ran away from the field in the sweet name of ‘Unification move’ in 2007 even during political talks. But, revolutionary patriots stayed the course with the people to save the issue.

In their unceasing attempts to subdue the Nagas, the enemies are still around in one form or the other. Their strategy is to fight the Nagas through the Nagas and to sabotage the Naga political talks through the Nagas, so that the Naga national issue is murdered by the Nagas themselves. And that enemies have already penetrated into our organizations and system. We must be aware of the enemies within.

Therefore, every member of NSCN must stand the ground firmly with the people and God. Some workers may run away from the issue, but NSCN will cling to the issue with the people; some others may run away from the battle of Nagalim for Christ, but NSCN will stay the course with the Lord. The Lord God, who guided and led the Israelites into the Promised Land is here with the Nagas today. He is with us in the military front; He is with us in the diplomatic front; He is with us in the political front and He is with us in the negotiating table. He was with us; He is with us and He will be with us in future. We will not look to the east or the west for help, but we will look up to the Lord our redeemer with whom we started our movement and we will finish it with Him. At this stage of decisive moment, all revolutionary patriots must once again stand firm the ground with the people with one mind and one decision in the mighty name of the Lord. We will cling to the Framework Agreement signed between the Government of NSCN as two entities, to which the whole world was the witness. The Lord in whom we trust is the faithful God. He will never leave us midway. Let us be strong and courageous in faith. This is the crucial moment where we make history-in life or death
