SSG 2018 survey conducted at Kuhuboto

 A Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2018 awareness program was held on August 7 at Kuhuboto sub-division under Rural Division, PHED Dimapur, where WATSAN Committee members, village council members and NGOs were in attendance.

PHED Dimapur SDO, Er. Ichirang Zeliang, in a press release said that this program was organized as part of the Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2018, the largest national survey on rural sanitation and cleanliness status of rural habitations, under the Ministry of Drinking water and sanitation, GoI, being conducted through August 1 to 31.

The survey was conducted among the WATSAN committee members on the status of village sanitation and activities through questionnaires. Kuhuboto Town emerged as the best performing village/town under Kuhuboto sub-division. In continuation of the campaign, a cleanliness drive was conducted around the campus of town hall and surrounding areas. During the program pamphlets and IEC materials were also distributed to the members and the WATSAN members were encouraged to continuously involve themselves in matters of the village’s water supply and sanitation activities.

Earlier, the objective of the SSG 2018 campaign was highlighted by Er. Imtisowa SDO PHED Kuhuboto, where he exhorted the gathering to instill the spirit of healthy competition by participating in the sanitation and cleanliness survey. He also appealed to the people to take a sense of pride in their own village’s and district’s effort to achieve better sanitation.

The program was chaired by Kuhoi Zhimo JE PHED, Kuhuboto and vote of thank was pronounced by SDO, PHED Kuhuboto.
