SSP observes Swachhta Pakhwada

Following the dreams of the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, which was carried forward by the Prime Minister on October 2 in a campaign christened “Swatchh Bharat: (Clean India), Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) has gone all out to contribute its bit to keep ‘India Clean’ by carrying out numerous cleanliness campaign within the school and in the adjoining villages.  

A press release from PRO (Defence) Lt Col Sumit Sharma stated that the school has been taking part in various activities organized by the central government and Central Board of Education (CBSE) with great enthusiasm. 

On December 7, all the cadets of the school along with the academic staff carried out a cleanliness drive mission as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada  that is being observed all over the country from December 1 to 15.

The cleanliness drive was carried out at the school and surrounding villages: Punglwa, Gailli and Moava. 

The cadets covered the stretch of around 3 kms from the school to the villages picking up the litters all along the road and then finally gathered in the village market area where they cleared all the garbage and waste (non bio-degradable) thrown in and around the area.
