SSP XIth annual sports meet held

The XIth annual sports meet of Sainik School Punglwa was held on Saturday with Namri Nchang, advisor, Water Resources Department as the chief guest. 

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the commitments and hardwork of the school for tomorrow’s future. He appreciated the school for imparting quality education since its inception. He advised the cadets to focus in studies and exploit the best facilities offered to them so as to gain all round development. He also emphasised that the cadets should adopt virtues such as perseverance, obedience, discipline and humility as these contribute to become a true sportsman.

The chief guest gave away the champion trophy of the XIth annual sports meet 2018 to Patkai house. He also presented medals, certificates and trophy to other winners.

In 100m dash, Cdt Pranav Chandra topped the position with a timing of 0:12: 25 seconds and in 200m, Cdt Pauku Meru clocked his run with a timing of 0:29:35 seconds.

Tug of war and musical chair were also organised for the parents. 

The cadets also displayed colourful mass PT, rhythmic aerobics, innovative bamboo exercise, skilful tableau display and gymnastic. 

Mindblowers Cultural Club, Dimapur performed Ao Naga dance. 

Taking opportunity of the euphoric event, school band, different clubs of the school like archery club, cycling club and rifle shooting club showcased their talents and skills.
