SSU holds 48th general session

Sohomi Students’ Union (SSU) held its 48th general session on January 11 at the village panchayat hall on under the theme, “Prioritizing education”.

A press rlease by SSU stated that guest speaker of the event, signal officer, 7th NAP Bhandari town, Wokha, Mushithi Nuwiry, urged the students to strive for quality education and encouraged them to be honest, disciplined, fear God and work to achieve their goals. He also cautioned the students against ill effects of the technology.

The valedictory guest, L/T Government High School (GHS) Sohomi, Virashe Nusory encouraged the students to be determined and dedicated in their studies. He also urged the parents to support their children in their education stating that students are the true assets of society. 

The first session began with an invocation by Rukhathi Tsory, presidential address was delivered by SSU president, Mudotso Nuwiry and report by SSU general secretary, Divito Vese while Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) education secretary, Nukuto Shijoh also brought greetings on behalf of the union. 

Other highlights of the event includes folk tune by Kese tsory and friends, Liwang Venuh performed special number, vote of thanks by Mudonolu Nuwiry and benediction by Nukulu Nuwiry, L/T GHS Phek village. 

The first session was chaired by SSU vice-president, Nuvide Nuwiry, while the second session was chaired by SSU women affair, Thujozolu Tsory.
