St. John College Dimapur celebrates youth day

St. John College Dimapur belatedly celebrated youth day in the college campus on August 17, wherein all 12 of the college departments participated in the event. 

A press release from SJC Dimapur stated that, different competitions and events by various clubs of the college showcased the students’ creativity. Department of Political Science organised debate competition, drama performances from Zoology department and Drama Club respectively. Quiz competition by Department of History and an extempore speech by Department of Economics. Department of Physics and Mathematics also conducted a quiz competition on the topic “general awareness on science”. Department of Education initiated creativity competition, Red Ribbon Club drawing competition on the theme of AIDS, while Philosophy and Sociology Departments came up with essay competition. There was also art exhibition by Chemistry Department. Department of English held a poster making based on the theme of “youth life”. 

Dance performances were given by Dance Club and Botany Department and students from Music Club enthralled the audience. 

Speech on behalf of the teachers was given by Topeli Kiho, asst. professor of Political Science, note of gratitude by the principal prof. Dr. S.T. Janetius. Resultof various competitions was declared by Kalika Swu of 5th semester, event management leader and a vote of thanks by Toshienla Pongen of 5th semester, asst. event management leader. 

Launched on December 3,1990. Nagaland Post is the first and highest circulated newspaper of Nagaland state. Nagaland Post is also the first newspaper in Nagaland to be published in multi-colour.
