Startup boot camps in Mkg, Zbto

A startup Nagaland Boot Camp organized by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Nagaland was held in Mokokchung and Zunheboto on July 27. 

The initiative was taken up as part of the implementation of the Nagaland startup Policy 2019 and also in compliance with the Startup India Ranking Framework 2019 of the Ministry of Industries and Commerce, Government of India, DIPR reported.

In Mokokchung, the programme was held at at the Conference Hall of Whispering Winds. 

During the programme, motivational talk on Startup and Entrepreneurship was shared by Rohit Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Mokokchung and Tsukti Longkumer, president, Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries (MCCI). 

Earlier in the programme, a power point and video presentation on Startup India initiatives and Nagaland Startup Policy 2019 was given by Er. Keneirienuo K. Theunuo, Startup Team Leader.  B. Asangla, Functional Manager, Mangkolemba while speaking on “entrepreneurship development” encouraged the students to take risk and take up entrepreneurship if they have innovative ideas as it will in turn contribute to the state’s economy.

An idea pitching session was also held during the programme for the students with Rohit Singh and Tsukti Longkumer as the judges. 

The first prize was bagged by Noklensangyo Pongen of Jubilee Memorial College followed by Imjungnaro, Sharon and Imtisungla of Jubilee Memorial School in second place and Lirichum Sangtam and Ayangshi Jamir of SGHSS Ungma in third place respectively. Certificate of merit and cash prizes were awarded to the winners for their innovative ideas.

The programme was chaired by I. Nochet, functional manager DIC while vote of thanks was proposed by T. Lipokwati Ao, general manager DIC, Mokokchung. Students along with their teachers from different Schools and colleges from Mokokchung attended the event.

Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, the programme was held at VDB hall, which was attended by more than 100 participants from different schools and colleges under Zunheboto district along with entrepreneurs. 

During the first session, Joel Phucho presented the Startup India introduction, Nagaland Startup Policy and Ideation workshop. S AkhetoSumi, general manager, DIC Zunheboto gave presentation on PMEGP and EDP. 

During the second session, the participants pitched their ideas to the judges and the top three ideas were presented with certificates along with cash prize. 

The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Khetovi, functional manager, DIC Zunheboto. The programme was chaired by Hetoi, functional manager.
