State begins second round Covid vax drive

The second round to give second shot of the Covid-19 vaccine to health care workers in the state began on Sunday at NHAK, Kohima and District Hospital, Tuensang. 

Altogether 123 healthcare workers were inoculated with the second dose led by senior doctors and nurses in the two hospitals with a turnout of 96%. No adverse events requiring medical intervention was reported and the HCWs were also issued COVID-19 vaccination certificate for successfully completing the full dose, State Immunization Officer (UIP) Dr. Ritu Thurr stated.

Till date 11,601 doses have been administered in the 11 districts (1st dose-11,478 + 2nd dose-123).

6 COVID cases reported in Kohima

Six new COVID-19 cases were detected in Kohima on Sunday, taking the state’s total caseload to 12189.

As on February 14, the state recorded 73 active cases while 11877 patients have recovered from the infection till date.
