State BJP leaders summoned to Delhi

Following reports of rifts within the Nagaland unit of BJP, party’s central leaders had summoned BJP Legislative Party (BLP) leader and deputy chief minister Y Patton and State BJP president and Higher Education minister, Temjen Along to New Delhi.

Speaking to Nagaland Post, BJP zonal general secretary Ajay Jamwal claimed that there was no issue within the BJP leadership but “just a little miscommunication” between the two leaders, which was resolved on Tuesday evening. He said the party leaders had been directed to work together.
He also confirmed that there won’t be any change of leadership at the party’s State level and that the incumbent party president would continue to hold his position, adding that if anything was required, this would be decided later.
When contacted, Along also claimed that there was no difference between him and the BLP leader. The issue was regarding an earlier demand for his (state BJP president) removal by the 10 district presidents, Along stated.
He also said the meeting was held in the presence of BJP’s national president, national general secretary (organisation), general secretary in-charge of Northeast and zonal general secretary, which asked both of them to work together  It has been learnt that many BJP legislators are currently camping in New Delhi.
The first batch of BJP legislators led by deputy chief minister Y. Patton and accompanied by ministers--- S. Pangnyu Phom, Kashiho Sangtam, Jacob Zhimomi and adviser Dr. Longriniken left for Delhi on July 12 and on July 13, state BJP president and minister Temjen Imna Along accompanied by adviser Mmhonlumo Kikon left for Delhi.
It was learnt that some of the legislators left for Delhi by a chartered a flight.
BJP ministers and adviser in isolation 
After a driver of Nagaland House, New Delhi, who was on duty with state BJP leaders, currently in the National Capital, tested positive for COVID-19, the state ministers and adviser were under isolation at Nagaland House, RK Puram.
Currently, five out of the seven BJP legislators were in isolation at Nagaland house RK Puram, Delhi and their test results were awaited, sources said.
Sources also informed Nagaland Post that the state ministers who had left Nagaland on July 12 had tested negative before they left for Delhi.
It may also be mentioned that the entire Nagaland House (main complex) in Delhi at Dr. A.P.J. Kalam Road was sealed as containment zone after five staff tested positive for COVID-19.
