State govt’s legal advisor passes away

R Kothandaraman, Legal Advisor to the Government of Nagaland, passed away after suffering a massive heart attack in Chennai on February 19, 2019.

Born in 1959, Kothandaraman served in various capacities in the Lok Sabha Secretariat, Meghalaya, Goa and Nagaland Legislative Assemblies. As legal advisor to the Government of Nagaland, he had profound knowledge in the field of parliamentary procedures and law. A prolific thinker and writer, he authored a number of books regarding parliamentary procedure. 

CM condoles: Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed deep shock and grief over the demise of R Kothandaraman, saying “the tragic news of his sudden demise has come as a rude shock to one and all.”

In a condolence message, Rio said Raman was known to him personally for almost two decades. 

The chief minister, on behalf of the Government of Nagaland, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and his family, conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members, relatives and friends. 

He prayed that Almighty God will grant them strength and solace in this hour of grief, and eternal peace to the departed soul.
