State Institute of RD bid farewell to outgoing officer

Farewell programme for retiring director, State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Limasenla Jamir was held at SIRD auditorium, Kohima on April 7. Limasenla Jamir retired from service after having served for 19 years. 

According to DIPR report, advisor SIRD, fire & emergency services and relief &rehabilitation, Pohwang Konyak thanked the outgoing director for her service and dedication.

He said that it was an achievement to retire in good health and requested her to render services to the department even after her retirement. 

Commissioner & secretary, rural development, Neposo Theluo described the outgoing director as a humble and efficient officer who was ever ready to render her service whenever required. He remarked that under her leadership, many infrastructure works were carried out and helped in implementing innovative schemes, conducting researches and trainings.

Neposo mentioned that Nagaland SIRD was one of the best in the North East and that it was because of the efforts and right initiatives put in by the outgoing director. 

Incoming additional director & HoD, SIRD, Vesato said that the outgoing director was one of the most decorated and successful directors of SIRD and congratulated her for 19 years of illustrious leadership.

He stated that she took on the role of a mother and improvised significant training programmes and conducted quality researches for target groups.

It may be mentioned that in the year 2019, SIRD secured the third position in the category of “overall performance in respect to training programmes,” under ministry of rural development, government of India.

Under her dynamic leadership, despite limited manpower, the department also accelerated activities in the district headquarters by creating infrastructure assets for the use of rural and general public. 

Outgoing director, Limasenla Jamir thanked the Almighty and her family for all the support. She also challenged the officers and staff to make the department known as “a center of excellence with expert trainers”.

She thanked her officers and staff for the love and support received during her service and also thanked the higher authorities for allowing her to run the department with minimal interference. 

The programme was presided over by joint director, SIRD, Imlimenla Longkumer; invocation was offered by senior lecturer, Dr. Juthsutho Phoni; special number was presented by staff of SIRD and vote of thanks by senior lecturer, Dr. Kedise Pucho. Short speeches were also delivered by ETC principal Tuensang, Dr. W. Phola Konyak and SAU director Imtitoshi I. Jamir. The programme was also attended by a host of senior government officials.

It may be mentioned that Limasenla Jamir joined service as EAC in 1986, was deputed to ATI and joined SIRD in September 2002.
