State level training on PFMS in Kohima

Directorate of Horticulture (DoH) organised a one-day state level training on Public Financial Management System (PFMS) at the conference hall, directorate of Horticulture, Kohima on May 7.

According to DIPR report, in his keynote address DDO & deputy director, Meyasashi said the PFMS provided real time banking transaction including the fund utilised and the balance available with the click of a button. He added that the Government of India has made use of PFMS mandatory for all the centrally sponsored schemes. 

He further said funds cannot be parked in the official bank account and has to be utilised immediately as the system will make the department more accountable and transparent.

Joint director, Qhutovi Wotsa said GST and DBT were never heard when he entered service and those systems will stay, therefore, he urged the trainees to clearly understand PFMS as it was crucial for the department.

Deputy director, Bongti Konyak chaired the programme. The resource persons were assistant accounts officer, Vishito Kulnu; operation assistant, Vivek Kumar Ambasta and operation assistant, Akangnungba Jamir. Deputy director, S. Senka Jamir said the vote of thanks.
