
Nagaland on Thursday registered the highest single-day spike with 22 COVID-19 positive cases, mounting the total number of cases to 80 in the state.
Out of 80 positive cases, all Chennai returnees, Dimapur has registered 57, Kohima-17, Tuensang- 5 and Peren- 1.
In a tweet, Health minister S. Pangnyu Phom said: “Out of 171 samples tested at the BSL-3 Lab at Naga Hospital Authority Kohima and Dibrugarh, 22 more returnees from Chennai have tested COVID-19 positive.”
All the patients were sent to the designated COVID-19 hospitals and active surveillance was on to prevent further spreading of the infection.
Till date, 3638 COVID-19 suspected samples were sent out of which 2130 results were received. 2050 were negative, 80 positive cases and results of 1508 were awaited.
Through the TrueNat machine all 101 samples collected had tested negative.
