Shamator Town Public Forum (STPF) has threatened no-cooperation during the ensuing Independence Day celebrations, if the commissioner fails to give a written assurance to appoint an additional deputy commissioner (ADC) at Shamator headquarters within the next 48 hours.

In a letter to the commissioner Nagaland, STPF president S Toji and general secretary Kiumusu pointed out that an SDO (Civil) was directed to assume the additional charge of ADC (vide government order No. PAR-4/1/2009 (Pt-I), dated Kohima the 8th of August 2018.

However, taking into account the prevailing factors, the forum leaders appealed to the commissioner to provide a written assurance of deploying an ADC at Shamator headquarters within the next 48 hours time as they pointed out that their demand contained in a representation (ref. no. STPF/SMTR/REP- 6/2018-19, dated: 3rd August 2018) was yet to be fulfilled.

And in the event of failure to issue a written assurance or deployment of  an ADC within the stipulated hours, people of Shamator sub-division would have no other option than to initiate non-cooperation during the Independence Day celebrations in order to express their discontentment and resentment against the State government, the STPF warned.
