Naga People’s Front (NPF) MLA, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu Thursday has called upon party leaders to come together to strengthen the party, while in opposition bench, instead of “thinking only to take over the government”.

A press release by NPF Central Youth Wing stated that the MLA was addressing party workers at the young wing’s “mini youth rally” held at the Central office, Kohima.
“Time has come to strengthen the party while being in the opposition instead of thinking only to take over the government”, said Azo.
Describing NPF party as the only party “deeply rooted” with the Naga people and the Naga identity, Azo called upon the party leaders for better co-relation among one another and to strengthen the party.
The MLA claimed that no other political party can protect the Naga people and identity if NPF party “vanishes” and added that such situation would be the “greatest defeat” for the Naga people.
Azo also called upon the party leaders to stick with the party principle and ideology and protect the Naga identity and be courageous to stand for the party and the Naga people.
Coming down heavily on Peoples’ Democratic Alliance (PDA) government, Azo accused the government of misleading the people of Nagaland on pertinent issues.
While referring to the ongoing Assembly Session, Azo accused the PDA ministers of disrespecting the Assembly proceedings and misleading the people on pertinent issues, which was raised by the opposition members in the floor of the House.
The MLA lamented that many Naga leaders have compromised the future of the Naga people for their selfish interest and personal benefit and that they could go up-to to the amount of even destroying the future of the Naga people for their self development.
Speaking on the topic “role of youth in opposition”, NPF ex-candidate, Er Loguseng Semp said in a democratic setup, youths in the opposition party are watchdog that can check the government and ensure that Central funds implemented and utilized for the welfare of the people.
He called upon the youths to be responsible and accountable for better governance.
NPF general secretary (Central), Dr. Lmwang Konyak, who spoke on the topic, “role of social media in opposition”, underscored the importance of disseminating positive political messages to the citizens through the social media platform.
Special greetings were delivered by NPF working president, Dr. Huskha Yepthomi and representatives from women wing and farmers’ wing.
The programme was chaired by youth wing vice president, Achamo Kikon, invocation prayer by secretary, Manpha Konyak, welcome address by president, Vihoshe Swu and vote of thanks by vice president, Supoyi Vezhu.
