Suiriepeu Zeliang wins Naga traditional shot-put competition

The department of Youth Resources & Sports organized traditional shot-put competition at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama on December 4.

Altogether, 13 tribes participated in the games where Suiriepeu Zeliang got the first prize while Megorieto Chase Angami and Likho D Sanga Garo won the second and third prizes respectively.  Shot-put is the traditional game of the Nagas played by various tribes of Nagaland. In this game, a contestant/participant used his strength and technique and tries to put the shot to the maximum distance and the one who throws the shot to the longest distance is declared the winner.
