Sumi Patriots’ Day  observed in Zunheboto

Sumi Patriots’ Day to mark the death anniversary of late general Kaito Sema was observed on August 4 at Patriot’s Monolith, Zunheboto organised by All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK).  A press release by SKK vice president Ayeto Zhimo and general secretary Bokalu V. Jimo stated that, Sumi Patriots’ day is observed annually to honour late general Kaito Sema and slain patriots who had sacrificed for the better cause of Nagas. 

Sumi Hoho general secretary, Nikheto Jimo while delivering solidarity message said that  an individual who work for the better cause of the world with sincerity will always remain a legacy. He added that they should be respected, while also encouraging those present at the event to be sincere in the field they were involved in. 

While remarking that Nagas were struggling economically as the state was dependent on produces of other states, Nikheto advocated for promoting local agriculture.   

He reminded that the fight for Naga solution has been prevailing for many years now and just when it was on the verge of considerable solution, the GoI tried implementing the delimitation but with the request of many Naga organizations the implementation of delimitation was “freezed”. He further blessed the patriots and extended blessings to their families. 

Earlier, programme was chaired by SKK general secretary, Bokalu V. Jimo, invocation pronounced by Rev. Dr Daniel Chishi pastor ZTSBC, welcome address by Ayeto Zhimo V. president SKK and benediction by Rev. Hukugha Zhimo executive secy SBAK Nito mount.  Sumi Hoho, Sumi Kukami Hoho, STH, ZCCI, ZAPO, ZRSU and Town GBs attended the programme.
