Swedish football coach, Sebastain Rassmusen will be training young and upcoming Naga football players under the age of 17 for ten days in Kohima. The event is being organized by the department of Youth Resource and Sports (YR&S) in collaboration with Costco to commemorate the 100 year celebration of Dr. T. Ao.

Advisor for youth resources and sports, Er. Zale Neikha said the event will be held from August 6-16 to promote and encourage the youngsters.

The advisor also informed that former Indian football captain and Costco brand ambassador, Baichung Bhutia will join the event as special guest.

Towards this the department has arranged 100 players capacity lodging at IG stadium, he said. However, the players have to bear travelling and food expenses by themselves, he added.

Six players each from 12 districts will be invited for the 10 days camp while the 28 seats will be kept open on first come first basis, said the advisor. If there are no participants from any district, the quota will also be made open.

The advisor also extended invitation to the coaches in various districts to participate. Costco Company will be providing the entire sports materials during the event.

Neikha said department coaches, Nagaland Football Association and other football association will be a part of the event.

Commissioner Secretary YR&S, Anenla Longchar said that it is a privilege for the state to have international coach to train the young Naga football enthusiast.

Longchar informed that those districts which do not have football association can contact their respective District Sports Officer (DSO) for detail informations.

On the poor infrastructure in the state, Neikha informed that the government is trying to come up with turf ground in Kohima and Dimapur.
