Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU) will start an educational tour from July 16 till 24, where the team will travel across 18 villages to inspect schools and health centres.
A joint press release by TASU president, Sangti Konyak and general secretary, Davidson Ngushu stated that the tour was being conducted to identify some of the key challenges to scaling up education and health facilities under Tobu block.
The union informs all the government appointed headmasters/teachers and medical staff to be present at their respective posting place as the union will not be entertaining any proxy for interaction with the TASU team during the meeting. It further stated that TASU will not accept any justification from VEC/VHC or teacher-in-charge for failing to be present during the meeting.
TASU also expressed disappointment towards the staff for always taking the resolution of TASU for granted and for always giving excuses of roads and poor infrastructure for their absence. The union has questioned whether the concerned departments had agreed to provide such facilities when they were appointed as teachers/nurses in a remote area like Tobu. TASU has further warned that all reports will be forwarded to DEO and CMO for taking strict action against any staff failing to present themselves during the meeting.
