The Coming Generation (TCG) organized “Safe Haven, a charity fashion show-cum-Edify Event” on August 9 at RCEMPA, Jotsoma with CEO Kohima Smart City Development Limited and administration KMC, Kovi Meyase as the special guest. The objective and purpose of the event was to facilitate and assist one year education and nutrition to the selected children living with HIV/AIDS from 11 districts of Nagaland.  The special guest while lauding TCG also thanked them for initiating the event. Meyase said there are many underprivileged children living with the incurable disease and neglecting the right to education. “Tonight exemplifies compassion, empathy, care and love for fellow citizens and for Kohima to be a smart city. We surely need infrastructure but I think we need smart citizens,” he added. Chief administrator of TCG, Francis Ruangmei in his welcome note disclosed the reason for choosing children living with HIV/AIDS saying that it was to support them through the event for the present governmental funding or international NGO funding towards children living with HIV/AIDS have been reduced which is why TCG is identifying the gap and realizing the needs of children living with HIV/AIDS. He stated that was only the beginning saying they would continue the journey of transforming the life of children living with HIV/AIDS in the endeavour of The Coming Generation.

Ruangmei attributed the happiness of their little sisters and brothers living with HIV/AIDS to the members for their presence, which he said is adding smile to another page of their happiness. “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap; if you want happiness for a day, go fishing; if you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune; if you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody”, he added. He mentioned that for centuries, happiness is found by helping others and assured the members present that their support towards the event will never go in vain and will not be regretted but will impact the life of their younger brothers and sister who are suffering not for their fault. The event was glamorized with three designers Aso Tsurho, Nutso Kire and Ken Dzuvichu showcasing their autumn collections designs along with 10 models with their ramp walk and local artists enthralled the audience. The programme was concluded with words of thanks delivered by Aso Tsurho.
