Tenyiphe-I village health sub-centre inaugurated

A new sub-centre, under the department of Health & Family Welfare was inaugurated at Tenyiphe-I village on April 22. The inaugural plaque was unveiled by I. Himato Zhimomi, principal secretary, Health & FW Nagaland, who graced the event as chief guest.

A press release from CMO, Dimapur, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi stated that Himato Zhimomi told the gathering that the government was now prioritizing preventive measures at the sub-centre level unlike in the past, where health centres focused on curing aliments. 

According to Himato, all sub-centres will be upgraded to Health & Wellness Centres where disease prevention will be the priority. He further stated that until new staff is appointed and posted at the newly inaugurated sub-centre, staff from other health units in the district may be redeployed to Tenyiphe-I village SC to make the centre functional at the earliest.

Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dimapur, also speaking at the program, assured the villagers that the district health department, with the help state officials, will make the health unit fully functional at the earliest.

A short speech was also delivered by Nolesa Zhotso, head GB Tenyiphe village and Helie Kruse, chairman Tenyiphe VC. The function was chaired by K. James Yalie, VDB secretary. A vote of thanks was delivered by Lucy Sophie.

Earlier, the inaugural prayer was led by pastor Razoukhul Tetso and the benediction by pastor Razouvolie Vimero.

Other officials present during the function were Dr. Antoly Suu, deputy CMO, Dr. Rebecca, Dr. Imtiwabong, Dr. Chem, Dr. Heto, Kikolul, DPMU staff and BPM Chumukedima.
