Terminate ‘illegal appointees’ under Nagaland PWD: CTAN

Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) has demanded termination of “illegal appointees” (30 SOs grade-II, 7 Draftsmen and 7 surveyor) under Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), who were appointed between July 6, 2016 and August 10, 2018.

CTAN through its media cell stated that the Civil Engineers Association of Nagaland (CEAN) had on February 7, 2019 submitted a representation with the name lists requesting the department for termination of illegal backdoor appointees of SO Grade-II, Draftsmen and Surveyor dated with 30 days from the submission of representation.

However, CTAN said that the appeal of the CEAN has not been acknowledged yet, adding that there has been no official notification from the side of the department on the issue.

CTAN claimed that the posts of nine SO grade-II, which was advertised vide notification NO.NPWD/E-IN-C/DRB/90/2019 dated November 23, 2019, was for the existing vacancy and not as demanded by CEAN when the said representation was submitted.

CTAN has, therefore, appealed to the responsible department to acknowledge the demand made by CEAN. It also requested the department to hold the departmental exam for the post of SO grade-II till the demand of CEAN was met.

CTAN has further appealed to all the departments to restrain from conducting any departmental exams till the SSB was fully functional.
