Three youths drown in Dibrugarh

Three youths drowned in a stream of the river Brahmaputra at Maijan area in upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district.

The deceased were identified as Sanjay Barman (36), Roushan Tamang (18), and Rajiv Dowerah (16).

The three friends had gone at Maijan area to spend some free time on Republic Day. The three young boys drowned when they went to swim in the stream.

After two hours of rescue operation SDRF team managed to fish out the bodies.

Gopal Tamang, father of Roshan Tamang said that he was to appear for higher secondary final examination from DHSK College.

Sanjay Barman, a driver by profession, was a neighbourer of Roshan Tamang and both of them were good friends.

Post-mortem was done at AMCH on Monday and after that the bodies were taken to their home. Sanjay and Roshan were cremated at Maijan ghat.
